Afla M1-V is a quantitative, user-friendly lateral flow strip test for detection of aflatoxin M1 in dairy products, providing precise results in just minutes.
Aflatoxin M1 is a metabolic by-product derived from feeding cows with aflatoxin B1 contaminated feed. Aflatoxin M1 is from Group 2B (probable) carcinogen according to IARC (International Agency for Research of Cancer), with levels of contamination of food with aflatoxin M1 being subject to strict legislative determination and control.
The European Union sets a maximum aflatoxin M1 foods contamination limit to 0,05 ppb and for dairy foods intended for consumption by children the maximum level of contamination of aflatoxin M1 foods should not exceed 0,025 ppb.
Vicam Afla M1-V strip tests for the determination of mycotoxin Afla M1 in milk use the proven susceptibility and selectivity of VICAM monoclonal antibodies for accurate detection and measurement of aflatoxin M1 at levels from 25 ppt to 750 ppt.
The sample preparation procedure includes one filtration, saves time and materials, and eliminates the need for centrifugation. The test is done in less than 12 minutes. Test results are displayed numerically on the display of a special reader - Vertu ™ Lateral Flow Reader, which has an interface for connection to computer or printer.
The use of Vicam Afla M1-V strip tests for determination of mycotoxin Afla M1 in milk does not require a laboratory setting and gives a new opportunity - obtaining quick and precise results for control of aflatoxin M1 milk contamination directly on the farm.
