MODIfinder GMO Identification Assays
MODIfinder Identification Assay were developed to detect the only unique signature of a transformation event that is the junction at the integration locus between the recipient genome and the inserted DNA. The identification of the GMO contaminating the matrix under investigation is a fundamental step when considering the labelling rules enforced in Europe.
Quantitation of GMO contamination must be in fact relative to something. In European legislation it refers to the presence w/w relative to the ingredient and not to the whole product. Therefore knowing exactly which is the event to quantify is crucial.
